(April Ministry Partner Communication)
After having spent some time in Ghana, it is evident that the Spirit of God is at work! Until recently, we could not say that we felt called to one people group or location in Africa, but rather to where the needs were. We now know that God has put a love, compassion and burden for the Ghanaian people in our hearts, which can only come from Him. We know that God opened doors, created in-roads and connected us with many who are hungry for Him and need Him. We believe that God led us, and has called us to serve Him in Ghana by continuing to build bridges relationally and spiritually with those people.
At this time, the school project with Agape Gospel Mission has been postponed. God is continuing to prompt us to be available and flexible. As He leads, we will continue to partner with other ministries, missionaries, teams and Churches. To be maximally effective, and to make things as easy as possible for supporters, we have established “Jasmund Outreach” as a non-profit ministry.
“Brothers, choose… from among you [those] who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them” (Acts 6:3). We believe that prayer, accountability and teamwork are essential for effective ministry. As such, God has sent us a team of seasoned believers to support us in these ways, both personally and organizationally. The “Board of Directors” is the governing body of Jasmund Outreach, where the “Spiritual Advisory Team” is a group of volunteers who have been and continue to be committed to us in prayer, accountability, and Godly counsel. The board of directors are: Pastor Steven (Bear) Dauenhauer, Dr. Robert Karl and Pastor Lillian Easterly-Smith. The team of spiritual advisors are: Pastor Michael & Kathy Teston, Mr. John Dage, Dr. Rob Karl, Pastor Lillian Easterly-Smith and Pastor Bear Dauenhauer. You can read more about them on “The Team” page.
Many of you have inquired in the past about supporting us directly. This is now possible, as your financial support can go directly to Jasmund Outreach. Your gifts will soon be tax-exempt, as that status has been applied for and is pending. Once received, all donations from April 2009 on will be tax-exempt. We will send a year-end statement of total gifts to each donor for accounting purposes.
We ask you to redirect your financial support of us through Jasmund Outreach. This can be accomplished by mailing a check or giving online (please see the sidebar). We apologize for the inconvenience of these administrative changes, but are excited about this next step in His adventure!
Please see “The whole earth, and everything in it” (March Archives) to read more of our recent stories and see pictures of people that we will be building relationships with in Ghana!
We “GO”…because He came…We give…because He gave.
“For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory – forever! Amen.”
