Jesus called us to “GO”…”make disciples of all nations”…”Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life. Instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you.” “This is my command: Love each other.”
“You will be my witnesses… here, there and everywhere.”
Our confidence is in the greatness of God. We know that success lies in His hands. The first step in every piece of our strategy is to seek the Lord. Along with His guidance we embrace His purpose for our lives. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your plans to the Lord and they will succeed”. We have done this, and God has given us the privilege to join in His work. “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18
We Believe: In Jesus.
We Believe: In one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to this earth as savior of the world. “The word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.”
We Believe: That sin is anything that comes from an attitude of independence from God; sin has seprated us from God, “The whole world is a prisoner of sin.” Only through Jesus Christ can we be reconciled to God. Jesus said, “anyone who sins is a slave to sin.”
We Believe: That Jesus is exactley who He said He was! “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.”
We Believe: That Jesus Christ lived a perfect life, the only perfect and sinless life. Jesus shed His Blood for the forgiveness of our sins, died on the cross and rose from the dead. Jesus Ransomed us, making peace between us and God. True life and eternal salvation are found only by placing our faith in Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross.
We Believe: That the Bible is God’s word. It is inspired and accurate. It is our perfect guide in all matters of life and the authority on which we base our faith, life, conduct and doctrine.
We Believe: That the Holy Spirit lives in believers, and every believer should be in a growing relationship with God by obeying His Word, yielding to His Spirit and by being conformed to the image of Christ.
“Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” John 17:3
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. No one has ever seen God, but God the one and only, who is at the Fathers side, has made Him known. Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become the children of God.” John 1:1-2,18,12
“All scripture is God –breathed.” 2 Timothy 3:16a
Preparing – Connecting – Discipleship – Duplicating
Nothing we do happens without prayer. We have given ourselves fully to God’s word and to its application.“If anyone loves me he will obey my teaching ” John 14:23a
People matter to God and matter to us. We strive to build genuine relationship with those to whom we serve. Meeting and connecting with people is not only the way we are wired, it is our lifestyle. In all that we do, we hold this relational step as vital to the work of Christ. “All this is from God, Who has reconciled us to Himself through Christ Jesus and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:18
We seek to connect others into community groups. We do not want to send anyone into Bible study or seeking Christ as a solitary journey. We believe that true spiritual growth takes place in the context of community. We strive to facilitate authentic, nurturing, relationships and community, leading seekers and believers into a local church (new church plant or existing). Reflecting Christ and sharing His love is our purpose and calling. “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:20
Success in our lives comes when we have invested ourselves in others, whom God then uses to reach others. “All the believers were together and had everything in common. selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:44-47
Community outreach and one-on-one evangelism is our passion and heartbeat. Construction is often a great starting point for God’s work in the cultures we serve. The areas we serve in, above all else, need Christ. We seek to share His love in meaningful ways to the community and culture. Jesus often offered physical help with spiritual truth.
Why “GO”? Because He did.
“The one who calls you is faithful and He will do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:24
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Matthew 28: 19-20a
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” Ephesians 3:20
We are committed to following Biblical principles. We believe that scripture clearly teaches that accountability and Godly counsel are imperative in the direction of every believer. As such, God has sent us a team of seasoned believers to support us in these ways, both personally and organizationally. The “Board of Directors” is the governing body of Jasmund Outreach, where the “Spiritual Advisory Team” is a group of volunteers who have been and continue to be committed to us in prayer, accountability, and Godly counsel.
“Brothers, choose… from among you [those] who are known to be full of the spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them.”
